North Acton Square

Our project at North Acton Square includes six converted shipping containers, a Village Hut and a Gardening Hut. The project is a result of community collaboration, local artists and architects. The shipping containers have been designed by architects Christian Senkpiel and Tomato Studio, and positioned along the north of the square, which provide a new home for a range of local businesses.

The Village Hut has been constructed to provide additional new meeting space for the local community. Built at the nearby Minerva Works Circular Economy Hub in Park Royal using recycled waste materials, the hut will support a host of community activities.

  • The North Acton Square project has been commissioned by Ealing Council with support from Old Oak and Park Royal Development Corporation (OPDC), Imperial College London, City & Docklands, and ADD Properties and Downing.es here

  • The current businesses located in the Containers are the following:

CONTAINER 1: AWAKENER COFFEE @awakener.coffee (Instagram)

    CONTAINER 2: HAMZA’S BARBERSHOP @4hamza_barber (Instagram)

    CONTAINER 3: INFORMATION HUB

CONTAINER 4: OLD OAK TAP BREWERY @oldoakbrewery (Instagram)

CONTAINER 5: SOUND BURGER @_soundburger (Instagram)

The Gardening Shed and Yard is our green heart on the square. Built largely from recycled and repurposed materials, this is the meeting point for our Guerrilla Gardening group. We invite neighbors, volunteers, and anyone with a green thumb (or just a willingness to help) to join us in making the square a blooming, welcoming garden.

THE GARDENING HUT

The village hut is a space for everyone. Whether you’d like to book the space for a book club, a community social, a children’s storytelling hour, or something new and interesting for your local community.
